our (empty) house

Welcome to our new little house!! We met our landlord last night and went on a final walk through. Everything looked good so she gave us the keys and left. I can’t tell you how exciting this was!! She did such a great job cleaning/fixing/getting it up to move in quality. She also is really flexible and is letting us do our own thing. She just wants to know about any major changes. She also gave us a painting budget that she deducted from our first month’s rent. Awesome! We start painting tonight!

The front yard… It’s… huge! I’m not sure what to do with it yet. Horseshoes? Bocce Ball? Croquet? Giant Jenga? Twister? The options are endless….

The front isn’t anything very special. We are going to paint the outside ASAP which will really spruce it up. I would love to add a porch though. Maybe one day…

View from the front door. This house has the original hardwood floors!

Looking into the kitchen. Our amazing little butcher block prep station.

Obsessed with the old wood windows in this house. They are perfect. I love how bright this house is too.. Such a huge improvement from our space now.

1. How wild is this cupboard? I can’t even reach it! 2. Our cute little bathroom. 3. The hallway leading to the bathroom, second bedroom, and “master” bedroom. I am IN LOVE with these old wood doors. We will probably get different handles for them eventually.

The closest in here are tiny. Luckily there is one in each room and I’m pretty good at maximizing small spaces.

This is the second bedroom. It is stunning. I’m not sure why the middle of the door to the backyard pops open, but I love that little quirky detail.

This is Tyler’s new workshop. This was a HUGE selling point to us on the house. As with all old houses, this one has its issues, but this made most of them totally worth it. He needs his own space, that isn’t the garage, to work on his furniture and our projects.

workhardstayhappy.comThe backyard is huge and I will take some pictures of that once we clean it up a bit and add our lights.

So what do you think?!
